Wedding Day Emergencies
Pimples- A pimple any day is annoying, but on your wedding day, it becomes a real problem. Remember these three steps- clean, treat, and conceal. Wash your face with a non-fragranced soap and pat dry. Next, try applying a drop of cortisone cream, Preparation H, or eye drops to temporarily reduce redness and swelling. Lastly, dab a cotton ball or Q-tip into a liquid foundation. Gently pat onto affect area and allow to dry. Once dry, complete make up as usual.
Puffy Eyes- Puffy eyes are generally caused by lack of rest, fluid retention and crying. Besides getting plenty of rest, keeping hydrated (avoiding excessive alcohol and salt) and not crying, there are a few things you can do to reduce eye puffiness. First, try a cold compress to reduce swelling. Believe it or not you can also apply hemorrhoid cream (look for brands that have yeast and shark's liver oil).
Dark Circles- If you wake up on your wedding day with dark circles (and you normally don't have them), chances are they were caused by either not having enough sleep or too much alcohol the night before. You may not be able to get rid of them in one day, but you can conceal them. First, lightly message the area with your finger tips to stimulate blood flow to the area. Wait a few minutes and then dab on a concealer that is a lighter shade tan your normal skin color. Also, be sure to keep yourself hydrated the rest of the day. |
