Wedding Day Hair

So you have purchased your gown and now you need to decide on the perfect hairstyle to complement you and your gown. First things first, think about what YOU want and what you will feel comforable in. Now decide on the basics:
* What length will your hair be? How about the color? If you are thinking about making a change to either of these, do this well in advance of the wedding to make sure you truly like your hair that way.

Cool Idea/Trend Tip |

Updos can make you look taller, so if you are much shorter than the groom, this could be an advantage for you. |
*Match your hair style to your dress. A modern dress should have a modern hair style and a classic dress should have a classic hairstyle. Your hair line and dress line should be the same. Also consider the texture and density of your gown. For example, a slim-fitting silk gown would be complimented by a sleek hair pulled back into a chignon.
*Get ideas- you can get hair ideas from anywhere. Check out bridal magazines, web sites, bridal shows. Keep track of the styles that you like.
*Will you do your own hair or will you have a stylist do you hair? If you are doing your hair yourself, try it first- make sure if is something that you can do easily. You don't need anymore stress on your wedding day. If you are using a hair stylist, ask the stylist for suggestions, be sure to describe your dress and accessories to them.

Remember to wear a button down shirt when you have your hair and make-up done. You don't want to ruin anything by pulling a shirt over your head. |
Always have a trial run. Note the time it takes to create your hairstyle, that will be important when you put together your schedule for your wedding day. During the trial run, use your headpiece, hair combs, flowers or whatever you anticipate to be in your hair. Leave your wedding "do" in place for a few hours, make sure it is comfortable. This is also a good test to see if your hair will hold up. Lastly, practice taking off the veil with your wedding hair do if you plan to remove your headpiece duirng the recpetion.
